JUDGES from Britain in Bloom visited Barnoldswick last week.
During a two-hour tour, the judges inspected the town square, the war memorial area, centenary gardens, bus shelter area and Valley Gardens.
They also met schoolchildren involved with growing plants in school for the Edible Barnoldswick initiative.
Lindsay Gaskell, Barnoldswick in Bloom secretary, said: “The judges weren’t giving anything away, but they seemed impressed.
“We have to wait until October before we find out whether we’ve gained a third gold medal for Barnoldswick.”
Barnoldswick’s bloom group has also launched its next initiative, the first Barnoldswick in Bloom Awards.
Lindsay said: “The awards are for individuals, neighbourhoods or businesses that have helped brighten up Barnoldswick with their garden, containers or displays.”
Entry forms are available at the Rainhall Centre or e-mail barnoldswickinbloom @gmail.com and the closing date is Friday.
