A YOUNG motorsport fan has been shortlisted for the title of British rally Championship amateur photographer of the year.
Darwen Academy pupil Robin Ellison got the bug for photography after his dad Chris showed him the ropes at the Malcolm Wilson Rally. He first picked up a camera at the age of eight and now hopes to be named the top amateur photographer in his field.
The 15-year-old said: “I can’t go through a single day without mentioning rallying. I love the action and the electricity of the events. The photography captures my love of the sport and the memories in a single image.”
Robin’s passion has seen him visit countries such as Portugal and Finland and he hopes to go to Ypres, in Belgium, for future rallies.
Closing date for entries is November 1 and the competition winner will be invited to the British Rally Championship awards dinner to receive a trophy.
