A SCHOOL which was told it was ‘inadequate’ last year is ‘not making enough progress towards the removal of special measures’, according to Ofsted.
Inspector Jean Olsson-Law said in a letter to St John with St Augustine CofE Primary School, Accrington, that it should not appoint any newly qualified teachers until it has improved.
She said attainment in reading, writing and mathematics had improved in years two and six, which indicated that the school was moving in the right direction.
But she said “the progress pupils make in lessons is still too variable.”
