A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was assaulted as he pushed his four-month-old son through an unlit park.
The teen was approached from behind by two men who hit him in the face and ribs as he was walking from the recreational ground in Longridge to the roundabout at the junction of Kestor Lane.
He fell to the ground and the robbers took £20 in coins from the boy’s pockets.
The youngster was treated by paramedics and later transported to Royal Preston Hospital for an X-ray on is head.
The incident happened at around 11pm on Saturday.
Det Insp Paul Langley said: “This is a terrible offence in which a young boy has been targeted with complete ignorance or disregard for the fact he was pushing a baby in a pram.
“Fortunately his son was unharmed and he was not seriously injured, but he has understandably been left very shaken.”
Both men were described as approximately 6ft tall and of skinny build, wearing dark clothing with hoods.
