A HOSPITAL manager has scooped a regional award after cutting costs by nearly £100,000 when booking temporary medical staff.
Lisa Eccles, medical staffing manager at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, won the ‘HR Role Model Award’ at the North West HR Developing Professionals Conference on Wednesday.
Boss Victoria Robinson, who put her forward for the award, said: “I nominated Lisa because she stands out as someone who demonstrates high levels of professionalism, integrity and promotes excellent customer service in all she does.
“Lisa has also played a key role in the Trust’s STAFFflow project, which is a VAT saving exercise relating to the booking of medical locums and has been embedded within the medical staffing teams and medicine division teams. To date this project has saved the trust almost £100k.”
Lisa said: “I’m delighted to even be nominated for this award.
“As a support function within the trust we understand that although we do not directly impact on patient care, we do influence it and patients are ultimately our main focus and are affected by every bit of work that we do.”
