FUN in the sun is guaranteed in East Lancashire at an array of attractions this weekend.
A reunion will take place tomorrow, at the Ace Centre, for former pupils of Nelson Grammar School, from 1946 to 1972, and its predecessor, Nelson Secondary School, from 1930 to 1945.
The fun continues in Blackburn with the Canal Festival, at Eanam Wharf, from 10am. The free event will also run on Sunday.
A model railway show will be staged at the St Mary’s Centre, Clitheroe, from 10am to 5pm tomorrow.
The show will also open on Sunday, from 10am to 4pm, and has been organised by the Blackburn and East Lancashire Model Railway Society.
The Darwen Pedal Car Grand Prix will be the highlight event of the day in Darwen on Sunday, from 12.30pm in the town centre.
A fun day with Coronation Street star Sam Aston and Burnley footballer Kieran Trippier will be held on Sunday, in aid of the Kids in Rossendale charity.
The event, at Indian Harvest car park to Rakefoot Methodist Church, will be staged from 11am to 4pm, and will include a bouncy castle, dance groups, and live music.
Henry’s Charity Fun Dog Show will be held at Witton Park, Blackburn, on Sunday from 10am, with judging from 11am.
