A TEENAGER has been cleared by a jury of molesting two 13-year-old schoolgirls at a house.
Mark Hagans, 19, of Tong Lane, Bacup, was found not guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a girl, after a four day trial at Burnley Crown Court. The defendant, who denied the allegations, was discharged from the dock by Recorder Anthony Cross, QC.
One of the girls had alleged she had woken up to find Hagans on top of her, trying to kiss her.
She claimed another person at the property had told her the defendant had committed sex acts on her. The defendant said none of what the girl claimed happened was true.
His barrister Keith Harrison said Hagans had sat on the end of the mattress. All that had gone on was that the pair had kissed and other people had seen them.
