A SARSAPARILLA and vintage tea party that marked a care home’s first public open day has been heralded as a success after 30 people flooded through the doors.
Townfield and Coach House care home in Great Harwood hosted the event as part of a nationwide attempt to connect residents with outside communities.
Staff from the home on Church Street, which provides specialist care to 24 elderly residents with dementia, treated guests to homemade fizzy drinks and cakes, gave them a guided tour and provided them with information on the home.
They were also on hand to answer any questions and raised £74 for the Alzheimers Society.
Manager John Timmins said: “The event was a great success and we want to thank all those who came to learn more about the home.”
