POLICE are trying to trace a good samaritan who helped a man who was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack.
The incident happened at the bus station, in Railway Road, Blackburn, when a man approached the victim and threatened him before hitting and punching him in the face for no reason.
The 26-year-old was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment for a suspected eye socket fracture.
Detectives are now appealing for the man who intervened in the attack, which happened between 8.45pm and 9.20pm on July 11, to come forward.
The attacker was described as Asian and in his early 20s with short dark curly hair. He was around 5ft 9ins tall with a stocky build and was wearing a plain T-shirt.
