A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after his trials bike and a car crashed head-on in a country lane.
TheYamaha and Volkswagen Polo collided near New Laith Barn, in Burnley Road, Trawden.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 1.25pm on Saturday.
The biker, from Trawden, was taken by helicopter to Airedale General Hospital, near Keighley.
Inspector Graeme Fearn said: "A 26-year-old riding a Yamaha motorbike collided with a Volkswagen Polo driven by a lady.
"The bike was travelling in the centre of the road.
"The motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with multiple breaks to his leg and hip."
A spokesman for Lancashire Ambulance Service said the man had suffered multiple injuries to his upper and lower legs, including fractures.
The road was closed for nearly three hours while police investigated the accident.
Police are also appealing for witnesses.
