A LOUT who attacked a man with a metal bar in his own home, leaving him with horrific injuries, has been spared jail.
Michael Warner, 24, had seen his girlfriend enter Aaron Moss's home in Nelson, went to see what was happening, knocked on the door and a fight ensued.
When the victim went to assault him, he hit him with the metal bar, causing a cut to Mr Moss's head and scarring.
Burnley Crown Court heard how earlier the defendant, his girlfriend and the victim had been drinking, the two men had ended up fighting and Warner might have got the better of Mr Moss.
Warner, of Preston Street, Darwen, had admitted wounding. He was given 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with 18 months ' supervision and the Lancashire Alcohol Specified Activity requirement.
