POLICE arrested a 29-year-old for possessing drugs during a patrol of Darwen town centre.
Officers of the town centre neighbourhood policing team patrolled the area on Friday night in a bid to tackle recreational drug use.
Community beat manager Mark Edwards said: “A number of premises were visited and the police presence was welcomed by the majority.
“On Saturday evening a number of licensed premises were visited and despite the warm weather, the majority were well behaved.”
Police arrested a man for being drunk and disorderly after he was prevented from jumping into the Union Jack flower bed outside Boots in Market Street. Another was asked to clean up his voimt from a bus shelter.
PC Edwards said: “Overall, the weekend passed without any major incident. Please encourage everyone to drink sensibly over the summer months and know your limits.”
