The countdown to Christmas continued in Blackburn yesterday with the switching on of Thwaites' star on the roof of the town centre brewery.
The star was turned on by Debra Hurst, whose husband was sales manager at Thwaites until he died of a heart attack last Christmas.
The British Heart Foundation is the brewing firm's chosen charity for next year, when the company celebrates its 200th anniversary.
