THE North West Ambulance Service has joined a campaign to get more heart defibrillators installed in schools.
The ‘Back to School with a Defib’ campaign, led by retail giant Asda and Hapton-based charity Pumping Marvellous, was launched at the Asda store, in Accrington, on Friday, with ambulance staff teaching customers basic life-support skills.
Pumping Marvellous is already running a project to install defibrillators in 10 East Lancashire schools, thanks to a £10,000 grant from the Lancashire Telegraph’s parent company.
