TEAMS are set to compete in a gruelling 10k run at Brockholes Nature Reserve.
The first Lancashire ‘No Ego Challenge’ will be hosted by the reserve, in Preston New Road, on Saturday, September 14.
Businessman Brian Lee developed the obstacle challenge, designed to test competitors’ stamina, strength, and agility.
Brian said: “The way that it differs from other races is that the challenge is not to win the race, but to simply complete it.
“We encourage people to work as a team, help each other over the obstacles, and enjoy the camaraderie of taking part in this new type of adventure race.
“There are chipped timed waves for competitors if they wish, but the majority will do the race for fun, to raise money for charity, or personal achievement.”
Anyone can run a ‘No Ego Challenge’ as long as they are fit, healthy are over 16 years old.
Entry fees start at £25 per person, Visit www.noegochallenge.com
