BREAKFAST clubs at two Burnley primary schools have been served with two welcome grants through a Hapton caterer.
Birchall Foodservice, based at Network 65, took part in a Kelloggs’ promotion, with the Country Range Group of suppliers.
For every box of cereal purchased over a three-month period, a donation was made to a central fund.
And, as one of the partners, Birchall was asked to nominate two breakfast clubs.
Bosses selected St Mary Magadelene’s RC Primary in Wellfield Drive, and Brunshaw Primary, Morse Street, for the £450 handouts.
Louise Birchall, from the firm, said: “It is estimated that a million school children nationwide go without a proper breakfast each day, which is the combined population of Liverpool and Glasgow.
“We are absolutely delighted that the campaign target was met enabling us to be able to help out these two breakfast clubs. It was a real privilege.”
The schools can also take advantage of an online training course, offered as part of the initiative.
