A WOMAN driving to collect shopping for her mum crashed after being temporarily blinded by the low sun.
Blackburn magistrates heard the car being driven by Tracey Roberts collided with a parked vehicle, flipped onto its side and then hit another vehicle during the incident in Marsh House Lane, Darwen.
Roberts, 42, of Spring Vale Garden Village, Darwen, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. She was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £110 with £85 costs.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Roberts had a few drinks during the afternoon and was not expecting to drive.
“When the sun blinded her she tried to slow down but hit the parked car,” said Mr Taylor.
