RETIRED Lancashire policeman Wayne Howard will tell the story behind his ‘big bloke’s Tour de France’ at Blackburn Central Library on Thursday, July 25 at 2pm.
On leaving Lancashire Constabulary he wanted a challenge. Although not a competitive cyclist, he decided to follow the 2,000-mile route of the Tour de France to raise money for charity, in honour of force colleagues who had died from cancer.
Wayne will reveal how he coped with the many mishaps along the way in an illustrated talk on his book Wayne’s Tour – a big bloke’s Tour de France.
Tickets are £1.
