AN inquest has been opened into the death of a retired supervisor, aged 89.
Freda Hoyle, of Laund Road, Baxenden, died at Accrington Hospital on Sunday.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer three years ago and recently fractured her arm in a fall.
But her poor health meant the fracture was only operated on ‘conservatively’, the inquest heard.
The results of a post -mortem examination were being withheld until further toxicology tests could be carried out.
The Blackburn inquest was adjourned by coroner Michael Singleton until a full hearing, on September 10.
