HUNDREDS are expected to protest in Clitheroe tomorrow over Ribble Valley Borough Council’s decision to pull out of the Waddow View housing appeal, which will see 345 houses built.
The group have told police that they intend to stand outside the council chamber while a full council meeting is held.
Protesters are also set to speak at the meeting, and are set to ask questions about how the decision was made by the council.
The proposal for the Waddow View site also includes a 50-place nursery.
A consortium of land-owners, including Clitheroe Auction Mart, the Huntroyde Estate and John Taylor, appealed after the plans were originally rejected on February 14.
Council bosses said they had been advised not to fight the appeal because of the costs likely to be incurred if it fails.
