FRACKING giant Cuadrilla will be invited to give a presentation to Hyndburn Borough Council, it has been announced.
Leader of the Council Miles Parkinson and Hyndburn MP Graham Jones have been inundated with requests for more information since several government announcing regarding fracking recently.
Hyndburn Labour party has also outlined its six conditions regarding the restoration of fracking in the area.
They include: mandated disclosure of the chemicals used in fracking and assessment by a regulator of their potential environmental impact with only non-hazardous chemicals to be used in the fracking mix; a full assessmen of the well integrity, micro-seismic monitoring of the area prior to any drilling to determine what the potential impact would be on local area; an assessment of the impact of water use on the local community, assessment of groundwater methane levels prior to fracking.
All assessments should last at least 12 months before any drilling can proceed, a statement said.
Anti-fracking campaigners claimed chemicals used can contaminate drinking water and the process can cause earthquakes.
