REPEATED concerns over anti-social activity at a Brierfield play area are set to be tackled by the borough’s MP.
Residents near the Taylor Street multi-use games area (MUGA) have complained about late-night noise and suspected drug dealing.
MP Andrew Stephenson has also been told of loud music being played from cars late into the night and abusive behaviour towards residents.
It is now feared a number of neighbours are planning to move away from the immediate area. Some have called for the MUGA to be closed but the MP is trying to broker a solution.
Mr Stephenson said: “Residents have told me that they are concerned. I have been told about all sorts of unacceptable behaviour that is making people’s lives a misery and dragging Brierfield down. There is genuine concern that despite problems being reported, nothing is being done about it. Some have given up and are planning to move.”
The MP is seeking talks with police and Pendle Council.
