STUDENTS at Blackburn Martial Arts and Kickboxing Club have played their part in a fundraising drive to send a youngster for treatment in the US.
The group presented a cheque for £2,174.25 to Sam Shaw’s mum, Christine, which was raised through sponsorships and a fundraising night at the club. Mr and Mrs Shaw need to raise £250,000 for Hoddlesden neuroblastoma sufferer Sam to receive essential immunotherapy treatment in Philadelphia.
The four-year-old was yesterday recovering in the surgical ward of Manchester Children’s Hospital after undergoing a three-and-a-half hour operation to remove a tumour.
