POLICE are looking for a suspicious vehicle in connection with a series of plant pot thefts in Haslingden.
Hundreds of pounds worth of planters were stolen from front, and rear, gardens, in Warwick Street, Thirlmere Avenue, and Cambian Way, between June 29 and July 1.
Since then, two more planters have been taken from Warwick Street, and six expensive plant pots, and hanging baskets, have been snatched from back gardens in Wells Street, overnight between Saturday and Sunday.
Rossendale Police suspect the thief is stealing the garden furniture to sell on, possibly at a car boot sale.
Inspector John Fryer said: “These are relatively low- value thefts, but we are taking the incidents very seriously.
“They are good planters that are being taken, and it’s very upsetting for people.
“They’ve spent time and effort making their gardens look nice and brighten up the area.
“It’s not nice for the community.
“We’re very keen to catch this offender.”
Officers are asking residents to note the registration number, and report sightings of a white Ford Transit flatbed truck which has been seen acting suspiciously in the area.
Anybody with information should call police on 101, or leave a voicemail message on 01706 237367.
