The duo – Hannah Spurgeon and Elliott Dryden, both from Clitheroe – were the unanimous winners of the contest at a grand final in front of hundreds of music lovers back in March.
The inaugural competition saw more than 70 acts and artists auditioning. Top prize was £1,000 to spend at the new Reidy’s Home of Music superstore in Blackburn.
Hannah chose a Taylor acoustic guitar and Elliott a Fender bass, both of which had to specially ordered for them.
The pair, both 18, have recently completed their A level studies – Hannah at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and Elliott at St Mary’s College, Blackburn, and are to take a year out to further their music career.
They have attracted considerable interest from music industry experts and are working hard on new material.
Their next shows will be at Lunchtime Live at the Atrium in Clitheroe next Friday and then they will open the Cloudspotting Festival in the Ribble Valley the following Friday.
