DARWEN’S neighbourhood policing team was congratulated after weekly figures showed just seven high impact acquisitive crimes (burglaries, thefts of or from vehicles, and robbery) last week.
The figures released through the police’s ‘In The Know’ service, where users subscribe to receive texts and emails, showed there were three thefts of vehilces and four thefts from vehicles from July 1 to 9.
A spokesman said: “Well done to the neighbourhood policing teams, the targeting teams and the public for their support and contribution in tackling the recent rise in burglary and vehicle crime offences.
“I think the use of the ‘In The Know’ messaging system has contributed to the reduction in crime.”
