A GROUP of tai chi students have been learning a new style to raise money for a good cause.
Every week, members of Lighthouse Tai Chi were offered 30 minute lessons free of charge and instead donated their payments to charity.
The group, which holds classes in Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale and Hyndburn, raised money for East Lancashire into Employment (ELE).
Instructor Helena Kean said: “The Tai Chi students’ commitment and dedication to learning the tai chi fan form has been tremendous.
“Tai chi fan is great for improving the mobility of the hands, strengthening the wrist and elbow tendons and easing the stiffness of arthritic conditions. In addition to its elegance, it is also great for co-ordination and balance.
“We are delighted to have raised some money for ELE who support Lighthouse Tai Chi in their work and who helped our classes get started with a small project funded by Help Direct.”
