POLICE have released a CCTV image of a woman suspected of assaulting a jogger in Burnley.
The 54-year-old victim was running along Pendle Way canal path with other members of her club when a woman in a pink dress approached the victim, blocked her path and grabbed her arm.
The offender then went to the Aldi store and was captured on CCTV.
This footage has been released in a bid to try to identify the attacker.
PC Trevor Syrett, from Burnley Police, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident to come forward and contact the police.
“I am also keen to trace the woman pictured in the CCTV. If anyone knows who this person is then I would ask them to call the police.
“Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured but it was an unpleasant experience for her and the person responsible needs to be caught and spoken to.”
The incident happened on Wednesday June 26 between 7pm and 7.15pm.
Anyone with information is asked to call Burnley police on 101 and quote the log reference number 1298 of June 26, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or report it online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
