A HIGH school pupil has become the first in East Lancashire to gain a V100 award for her dedication to volunteering.
Katie Allonby, who attends Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School in Oswaldtwistle, has given more than 200 hours of her time to work on community projects including netball coaching for primary school students and representing the school at external events.
The vInspired award is a government sponsored scheme which encourages young people between the ages of 14 and 24 to volunteer their time for projects in their area.
Katie said she was looking forward to receiving her V100 at the annual vInspired awards ceremony in London next year.
