CURTAINS donated by Darwen textiles firm Herbert Parkinson raised £1,800 in a pop-up charity shop organised by volunteers at Child Action Northwest.
The charity took over the council-owned facility in Lord Street West, Blackburn, for a week, beginning July 1.
The curtains, cushion covers and tiebacks were slight seconds from the John Lewis Partner firm, and were sold from just £10 per pair.
Creative partnerships manager Harriet Roberts said: “This was a tremendous amount of money that will go to support our work with children and young people in our own communities.
“We were also delighted to be able to provide soft furnishings for one of our young people who was homeless and has just gone into their first flat.”
The charity is now accepting donations for its next pop up shop week in December.
