DRUG dealers who offered to supply 'exceptionally pure' crack cocaine to an undercover police officer in Burnley have been jailed for more than three-and-a-half years each.
Prosecutors said that the crack offered by Mohammed Ikraam and Mohammed Ruman Alom had purity levels of between 59 and 95 per cent, an unusually high concentration for street drugs.
Preston Crown Court heard Ikraam, Alom and fellow dealer Umar Ali were caught out after an officer was involved in a street-level operation in the Stoneyholme district of Burnley last year.
Qualified plumber Ikraam told the officer he could also supply him with heroin and gave him a number where he could be contacted '24 hours a day', the court was told.
Ikraam, 26, of Thursby Road, Burnley, who admitted crack cocaine dealing offences, was jailed for 42 months and three weeks by Judge Jacqueline Beech. Alom, 21, of Reedley Road, Brierfield, who admitted heroin dealing offences, was jailed for 40 months.
The court heard that Ikraam and Ali, together with Owess Khan and his brother Saquib Khan were also involved in a street attack on youth worker, Marran Maqsood.
He had tried to prevent what he believed to be an attempted robbery of a man in June 2012. Ali also fractured the jaw of Mr Maqsood's cousin, Faisal Arshad.
Owess Khan, 23, and Saquib Khan, 25, both of Fifth Avenue, Burnley, were jailed for 33 weeks and 24 weeks. Ikraam was jailed for 19 weeks for his part in the attack.
Ali, of March Street, Burnley, who admitted similar drug-dealing offences to Ikraam and Alom, causing GBH to Mr Arshad and assaulting Mr Maqsood, will be sentenced later.
