PRIVATE fostering is at the centre of a new Blackburn with Darwen Council advertising campaign.
It will look at ‘informal arrangements’ where a child lives with somebody other than their immediate family.
In Blackburn with Darwen there are no recorded cases of private fostering but it is estimated hundreds of youngsters are in these circumstances.
As part of ‘Private Fostering Week’ this week, balloons were launched outside Marks and Spencer’s, Blackburn, on Monday.
Two teenagers will be ‘sofa surfing’ in Blackburn Market today and in Darwen Market tomorrow to highlight the plight of these youngsters.
