MP Jack Straw officially opened a new school.
Witton Park High, Buncer Lane, Blackburn, was rebuilt as part of Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Building Schools for the Future programme.
Headteacher Dean Logan said: “The new school has attracted lots of attention from both the local community, who are enjoying using the great facility, and parents.
“Hundreds of primary school pupils have taken part in bespoke activities at Witton Park this year and are very keen to come back for more.”
“The links with our local communities has been fantastic and extremely rewarding.”
Coun Dave Harling, executive member for schools and education at the council, said: “The new school is an amazing facility and is transforming the learning of all the students.
“The learning environment has been vastly improved for the pupils, teachers and the community who will be able to access the state-of-the-art facilities.”
