THE hot weather could make a dip in a local reservoir, or other outdoor water, seem very tempting.
But experts have warned people to be careful and not risk harming themselves by jumping into the water.
After a scorching weekend, with temperatures reaching a year high of 25 degrees, the Met Office predicted the hot weather will continue for the next week.
Temperatures should remain at 25 today, before cooling a little tomorrow, when there could also be some cloud around but the heat will return in the run-up to Friday. Huncoat weather expert Roy Chetham said: “This weekend was the hottest it has been this year at 25 degrees.
“We had 27 degrees in June 2007.
“Also, we haven’t had a run of good weather like this since 2007, when there were 11 hot days in succession.
“There has been very little rainfall throughout June and in the early stages of July, which could threaten drought if it continues.”
