THE campaign to save Slaidburn Country Practice from closure has received the ‘100 per cent’ support of Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans.
Mr Evans said he had spoken to Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt about the practice and he said he would do all he could to help.
The practice is facing closure after the government announced £90,000 of funds would be withdrawn from the surgery over the next seven years.
Mr Evans said: “People who live in rural areas should not be penalised for it and have their services taken away.
“The practice is a very important part of the community and we can’t have people travelling 50 minutes to another surgery.”
