BROCKHOLES Nature Reserve will be holding a series of ‘wild families’ events this summer, aimed at getting families outdoors and working together.

The 12 events, to be held between Tuesday, July 23 and Friday, August 30 at the Samlesbury reserve, include activities such as outdoor photography, arts and crafts, and boat building.

There are also other opportunities to get involved with wildlife at the reserve. A bat walk takes place on Friday, August 30 and a dragon fly walk is on Monday, August 12, as well as craft events, with recycled materials.

The nature reserve will also host ‘Wildside’, a school holiday club run by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust on Wednesdays and Thursdays from July 23.

Activities on this programme include outdoor survival techniques such as shelter making and fire lighting.

All ‘wild families’ events run from 2pm to 4pm and are £3 per person, or £10 for a family of four.
