A TEENAGE singing sensation has beaten 120 other hopefuls to open a star-studded concert in Manchester.
Ella Shaw, 16, will start the Manchester Arena show, in front of 14,000 people, on Sunday, July 28, ahead of performances by the likes of Olly Murs, Scouting For Girls, and The Wanted.
The former St Augustine’s RC High School pupil, from Langho, won Key 103 FM’s Future Stars talent contest with her dubstep cover of Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’, after two months of voting by the public. She said: “I could not believe it when they rang me and told me live on air.
“It will be such an amazing experience to perform in front of all those people, and open a show which includes so many great artists. Whatever happens with my career, I will always look back on this and feel very proud of what I have achieved.
“I’m a bit nervous about opening the show because it’s a big responsibility.”
Ella’s mum, Janine, said: “We are all so proud of her, and grateful to all the people who have voted for her.”
Ella, who is performing at the Key 103 Live event, might not be the only talent in the family, with her two younger sisters, Mollie, 10, and Jessica, 13, both keen singers.
