THE founder of a group dedicated to the memory of workers at Blackburn’s Sun Paper Mill is set to launch a keepsake calendar in their honour.
The mill, in Preston Old Road, Feniscowles, used to employ 160 people to make cardboard box material from recycled paper but was shut down by the Scandinavian SCA group almost 21 years ago.
The group’s founder, Chris Burns, whose father worked in the mill, came up with the idea to collect favourite memories of other workers to ensure that its legacy was not forgotten.
He plans to put the calendar on sale for a limited run in the next few months.
