A ROSSENDALE firm has taken the cue to a support a charity appeal.
J and J Ormerods in Stacksteads has donated a brand new snooker table after Bacup Coun Jimmy Eaton appealed for items to be auctioned off at his annual fundraising Christmas auction at Bacup Leisure Hall next month.
Coun Eaton said: "All the tickets for the event are sold, but I'm still looking for prizes to auction and raffle off.
"I was delighted when Ormerods called to say they would give the table.
"It's worth £700, but may raise much more on the night."
As well as the snooker table, auction items so far include signed Premiership football shirts, and a trip for two to the Houses of Parliament with Rossendale MP Janet Anderson.
All proceeds raised at the event on December 16 will go to Rossendale Hospice.
Anyone who would like to donate an item can call Jimmy on 07917 627337.
