A GROUP of writers have donated £1,000 to Rossendale Hospice.
Rossendale Writers’ Group handed over a cheque to fundraising manager Sam Morris.
The group, made up of writers from the Rossendale, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Blackburn and Rochdale areas, recently disbanded and treasurer Peter Jones, from Accrington, donated the remainder of the group’s funds to the hospice.
Over the years, Rossendale Writers have published four anthologies, which sold in book shops and craft fairs between Rossendale and the Lake District. From sales, over £4,000 went to various charities over the years.
Peter Jones, founder Lily Driver, and former secretary Pauline Hutchinson, are now members of the Lancashire Authors Group.
