A PROJECT that provides support and activities for families with disabled children is looking to expand into the Ribble Valley.
The AllTogether Social Trust, which is based in the enterprise centre at Blackburn Rovers, encourages families to socialise together alongside offering support to carers.
Funding has been secured from Sport England to introduce an archery club, table tennis will be starting soon and the adults’ group is supported by Big Lottery funding. Mum-of-three and founder Lizzy Toms, 31, said: “We will be retaining our hub in Blackburn but we are now looking to have spokes in other areas starting in the Ribble Valley.”
Lizzy, whose older son has mental health problems, said: “I set this up in September 2011 based on my family experiences because I have seen what impact it can have on the whole family.
“At the time I could not find a club with a social aspect that incorporated the whole family.
“I wanted something that everybody could go to but there was nothing under the same roof.”
“Although we want to expand into the Ribble Valley we will not be competing with other providers, we want to work with them and complement what is already there.
