THE Mayor of Rossendale flew the flag for the Armed Forces at St Mary’s Gardens, Rawtenstall.
The special ceremony, held on Armed Forces Day, was led by Mayor Coun Amanda Robertson.
It took place at Rawtenstall Memorial Gardens, and was also attended by the Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire, Sir David Trippier.
There was a short dedication service, performed by Rev David Burrows, and bugler James Hoyle played a salute during the raising of the flag on Monday. Members and officers of the borough council, including Helen Lockwood, the chief executive, and Coun Christine Gill, the Armed Forces champion.
Honorary Aldermen also attended along with British Legion Members and Cadets.
