AN MP is urging constituents to join a debate on how the government affects family life.
Graham Jones said he feared mums and dads were not spending enough time with their children due to a lack of support.
He said issues like paternity pay and children’s centres should be discussed with politicians.
Mr Jones said: “As a country, and as a society, we fail to offer enough support for families.
“Labour introduced many changes that made a real difference to family life such as 3,500 sure start centres, statutory paternity pay and extra help for mothers, but now it is becoming harder and harder for parents to make the most of their time with their children.
“Families need support which is why Labour is exploring ways of easing the pressures parents face and we need to think about how to make balancing work with family life easier for both mums and dads.
“You can share your experiences of trying to balance work and family life, and let Labour know how you think a future government could make things easier.”
