AEROSPACE giant BAE Systems is holding several events this weekend for Armed Forces Day.
The company, which has around 175 reservists working across its national workforce, said the events will give staff the opportunity to think about their support for the armed forces, which they work in direct partnership with on a daily basis.
Events include ‘wear your uniform to work’ day, ‘listening’ sessions at the firm’s Warton and Samlesbury to allow staff to find out more about the role of the armed forces and sponsoring external events.
Drew Steel, military liaison executive for BAE Systems, said: “There is no question the company, from top to bottom, is committed to supporting reservists in our employ. Not least because we are proud of what they are doing, we get direct benefit from having that link with the military.
“As a business we have gone from working in production silos to working in partnership with our customer, and what better way to understand what they need than having them in our midst?”
