A CHEMIST has been working with care homes in Lancashire to make sure residents take their prescriptions safely.
Global firm PharmaLogic said those living in care homes were given an average of nine prescription drugs every day, so eliminating errors was a ‘huge challenge’ for managers and staff.
The company said it had reduced the risk of medication mistakes by more than 50 per cent by using ‘intelligent packaging’, which included personally-portioned pots and residents’ photographs.
