A POP-up charity shop with a difference has opened its doors in Clitheroe.
The town’s mayor, Coun Kevin Horkin, has opened the store in Swan Courtyard, off Castle Street, as part of his target to raise £100,000 for the Clitheroe Community Fund during his mayoral year.
The shop’s bills and expenses are to be paid for by Coun Horkin, with all the money spent in the shop going directly to the charity.
The event was attended by council officials including borough council leader Coun Stuart Hirst, town council leader Coun Mary Robinson and former town mayor Coun Allan Knox.
Coun Horkin said: “It was a brilliant event and I have high hopes for the shop.
“It will make a real difference to the town and will go a long way towards reaching my ambitious target.”
Donations of stock of any kind are being accepted and volunteers to help staff the shop are still required.
