GIFTED, able and talented students at schools in Burnley will take part in a one-day science, technology, engineering and maths workshop.
Year seven and eight pupils from seven schools will meet at the Science Hub at Burnley College on July 10 to complete ‘inventions’ themed tasks.
Ambassadors from BAE Systems and the Royal Blackburn Hospital will also be in attendance.
Sara Webb, science subject leader at The Rose School, Greenock Street, Burnley, said: “This is a really important event for our Burnley Schools and I think it's great that we can work together to encourage our pupils to learn new and exciting things out of the classroom environment.
“Through this exciting and innovative opportunity our aim is to encourage pupils to aspire to careers within the science, technology, engineering fields.
“In this area of Lancashire we are fortunate to have on our doorsteps world class companies, many of whom wish to employ local people.”
