A LECTURER and her design students won a top award as part of Adult Learners’ Week.
Jenna Gardner, programme leader for the design degree course at the university centre at Blackburn College, is also co-ordinator of the Beehive Student Design Company, which has helped her win a certificate of achievement in recognition of her commitment to learning.
She said: “We set up the Beehive company about four years ago to give design students a taste of real life work experience “We work with businesses and have also worked with Blackburn and Darwen Council and Beehive has grown quite big over the years.”
The graphic design students work alongside the council to tackle some high profile issues, from pest control and dog fouling to fostering and alcohol.
