ALL three lanes on a section of motorway are blocked this morning after a vehicle overturned on the southbound carriageway.

The Highways Agency, North West Ambulance Service and Motorway Police are at the incident on the M66, around half a mile from junction one.

According to officers, lane one is completely blocked and will remain closed while recovery work takes place.

It is expected that lanes two and three will be reopened soon.

Paramedics assessed motorists involved, but no serious injuries have been reported.

Drivers are also reporting delays on both sides of the carriageway.
