YOUNGSTERS will enjoy sporting activities, day trips and learn new skills thanks to cash from Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Action Fund.
Clive Grunshaw has selected the first five projects to receive grants from the fund, with four of those being from East Lancashire.
The money will be used to help make a difference to the lives of some of the county's residents.
The successful projects all focus on work with young people, and include Cheets Not Streets 2013 in Darwen, Clitheroe Youth Forum, All Street Residents Association, Burnley Wood and The Fraser Street Project, Burnley. The groups have all received grants of between £1,250 and £2,000.
The Commissioner said: “I am delighted to have approved the first set of grants .
“I want to ensure this money is used to make a real difference to the lives of people across Lancashire.”
